We are looking for a Lead Guide to join our start-up, someone who is independent, ready and willing to take on the task of building a new Primary (3-6) classroom in Duluth, MN for the 2022-2023 school year. This full-time position entails opening your classroom, communicating with parents and your assistant, maintaining a positive relationship with your assistant, establish a work period and a Montessori classroom environment, giving individual lessons, tracking development, lesson planning, record keeping, tracking enrollment, supervision of children and assistants, supervision of playground, and adhering to all Minnesota licensing rules and regulations, etc.

AMI or AMS Diploma
1-year minimum experience preferred

Duties:
Develop lesson plans and manage the learning experiences for students to ensure the needs of the groups and individual students are met.
Assists students toward self-directed learning.
Maintains a neat, well-organized, and attractive prepared environment consistent with Montessori pedagogy.
Observe student activity and base lesson-planning on observed needs and interests
Work within the Montessori pedagogical scheme to develop and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all students
Monitor and evaluate student development and outcomes
Attends all staff meetings and parent meetings.
Works to develop close and effective relationships with parents, including opportunities to discuss and
understand the child's individual progress; encourages them to bond with both the class and the larger school community; provides individualized tracking of student progress.
Holds parent-teacher conferences twice per school year.
Follows the school's policies and procedures for student evaluation and record-keeping, meeting all due dates as required; includes the administration of standardized tests if needed.
Prepare for school's community activities such as open houses, observation, and all general meetings or special events, including attendance and participation in field trips.
Supervise classroom assistant
